π Nicolette Talley: Education & Lifelong Learning
My passion for travel, history, and storytelling didn’t begin when I launched Talley Your Adventureβit started in the classroom and continued through years of exploring America’s historic places and cultures around the world.
ποΈ Master of Arts (M.A.) in Public History
University of Arkansas at Little Rock | Little Rock, Arkansas | 2015
β GPA: 4.0
My graduate studies focused on preserving and interpreting the stories that shape our communities and national identity. Public History taught me how to connect people with places, transforming historical facts into meaningful experiences that inspire curiosity and understanding.
π Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Studies & History
University of South Florida | Tampa, Florida | 2008
β GPA: 3.51
Majors: International Studies & History
π Minor: Asian Studies
Through studies in global cultures, international relations, and world history, I developed a deep appreciation for how travel connects people across borders and generations.
β¨ National Student Exchange Program
University of Alabama | Fall 2007
This experience allowed me to study in a completely different region of the country, broadening my understanding of American culture, history, and regional identity.
π’ Beyond the Classroom
Education gave me the foundationβbut experience brought it to life.
For more than a decade, I served with the National Park Service in leadership, operations, visitor experience, and historical interpretation roles across the United States. Along the way, I became a licensed 100-Ton Inland Master Boat Captain, led educational tours, managed complex visitor programs, and helped connect millions of visitors to America’s stories.
Today, as the founder of Talley Your Adventure, I combine my background in history, travel planning, public speaking, and destination research to help travelers move beyond the typical vacation and experience destinations with deeper meaning. The company specializes in custom travel planning, independent and solo travel, cultural experiences, American history destinations, and immersive journeys throughout the United States and Europe.
